Update: uncovering the 1996 "Leo the Lion" VHS release in Croatia
Exactly 30 years after its debut, incredible new details and rare media have come to light.
I am thrilled to share an interesting update regarding the Croatian home video release of Palm Beach Entertainment's Leo the Lion, originally distributed in Croatia by Continental Film in 1996.
For years, it was assumed this release mirrored the 1994 U.S. edition, which contained only 8 episodes. However, incredible new findings reveal that a total of 24 out of 26 episodes were actually dubbed into Croatian and distributed across 8 rare videotapes, with each cassette housing 3 episodes!
Here is what has been added to the archive:
• History pages update: Added thumbnail of the front cover, full dubbing credits, and the rare Croatian opening theme audio.
• Lyrics & translations: The complete Croatian lyrics for the opening theme are now available, alongside their English translations.
• new Episode guide: A brand-new comprehensive comparison page mapping the original Japanese, English, and newly discovered Croatian episode titles

Last but certainly not least, a monumental thank you to the Public library "Ivo Kozarčanin" from Hrvatska Dubica in Croatia. Thanks to their effort I have added two photos featuring four of these elusive videotapes to the European Kimba toy & video museum page (one of which is showcased above).
